Additive manufacturing continues to grow at around 50% year on year and parts made with this technology can now be found in applications as diverse as orthopaedic implants and aircraft engines. AILU has an active Special Interest Group on Additive Manufacturing with research going on in this field in member organisations around the world. This workshop in Rotherham will showcase the latest in research, technology, machinery and applications in metal additive manufacturing – both powder bed systems and powder/wire fed. At the end of the day there will be an opportunity to tour the TWI nearby facility to see the latest technology in action.
