The new building at the AMP Technology Centre in Rotherham is more than 80% let just six months since its launch, thanks to a trio of deals secured by managing and commercial agents, Creative Space Management.
The 32,000 sq ft state-of-the art facility at the 100-acre Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) in Rotherham was officially opened in May by Sajid Javid, then Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills. The Homes and Communities (HCA) funded development offers more than 26,000 sq ft of specialist office and work shop spaces for growing advanced manufacturing and technology companies.
Creative Space Management, which specialises in creating SME hubs across the North, has facilitated three deals at the new building including MetLase, a joint venture between engineering giant Rolls-Royce and Unipart, the manufacturing, logistics and consultancy group which has taken more than 10,000 sq ft of workshop and office space. Runflat CBR, a company which is set to revolutionise the global runflat industry, has expanded from its previous office at the neighbouring Advanced Manufacturing Technology Centre, taking up almost 5000 sq ft and HBM-nCode, an engineering data analysis solutions company, now occupies 3,640 sq ft of workshop space, with a further let taking up 3640 sq ft of space.
Commented Paul Taylor from Creative Space Management: “Achieving 80% occupancy within six months of the building’s launch is proof that we’ve created exactly the right product for the specialist market here. The development is fulfilling its intended purpose which was to give companies from the neighbouring AMP Technology Centre, where we have also maintained almost 100% occupancy, the opportunity to expand into larger premises, as well as to attract high technology companies from further afield.”
There are a limited number of office and workshop spaces remaining at Building 3. The development also offers a communal kitchen, shower facilities and access to state-of-the-art meeting rooms and conference facilities.
