EVENT OVERVIEW

This session will increase ACCA members’ awareness and understanding of mindfulness and allow them to seriously consider mindfulness from both a personal and organisational perspective. By the end of the session participants will be able to:
• Explain what is meant by the term “mindfulness”
• Outline how mindfulness works, drawing upon the evidence from neuroscience
• List the reported benefits of mindfulness
• Describe how mindfulness is learned
• Reflect upon the relevance of mindfulness to their profession

Maureen O’Callaghan, Director and Mindfulness Teacher, Now Unlimited

Maureen O’Callaghan is social enterpreneur working to improve the health, wellbeing and performance of individuals, teams and organisations, helping them to create healthier and more profitable working environments. Her work involves combining tried and tested management theory and practice with up to date research in the application of mindfulness in workplace settings.

Maureen’s background is in voluntary sector management where she has initiated and led a number of national and international learning and development programmes. She is a Member of the Chartered Management Institute.
