This meeting will present the Fabrication standard BS EN 1090-2, revised in June 2018.
Since 2014, in order to meet the European directive for CE marking, this standard has been required to be complied with by all fabricators who are placing structural steel products on the market.
The presentations will include experiences of various professionals who are closely involved in the use and monitoring of this standard. Other standards, such as BS EN ISO 3834 and BS EN ISO 14731, are called up by 1090-2 and the requirements to be met under these standards will also be discussed.

Other associated topics are included in the forum agenda, such as new materials standard requirements and an available reference register for those certified to BS EN 1090-1; certification being compulsory to verify the CE marking requirement by law.

The likely situation with the CE marking requirement after Brexit will also be presented.
This meeting will not only provide a wealth of information from the presentations, but it is intended that frank and open discussion be engaged in to debate some of the contentious requirements published in the standard.

Personnel working within the structural steel industry, such as Quality Managers, Welding Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Materials Engineers, and Design and Consulting Engineers can benefit from participation in this event.
