DMG MORI with its head offices in Nagoya, Japan, is a pioneer in machine tool building. Founded in 1948 the company has launched more than one hundred different lathe and machining centre series over the years, all NC/CNC models. In total more than 180,000 machines have been produced.
Working closely with the AMRC, the facility located in the AMP Technology Centre will provide a base for Mori Seiki’s support of the Strategic Affordable Manufacturing in the UK with Leading Environmental Technology (SAMULET) project. The aim of SAMULET, which is a collaborative project led by Rolls-Royce between industry and academia, is to ensure that the UK aero-engine industry remains competitive in the face of new 2020 emission targets. It will focus on productivity and environmental improvements, including efficient advanced manufacturing processes and lower engine fuel consumption.
