Performance Engineered Solutions (PES) Ltd is a high-performance engineering design solutions business based at AMP Technology Centre. It employs a multi-disciplinary team of design and performance engineers who deliver design solutions for clients from a wide range of industries, including aerospace, automotive, defence, energy, and medical technologies.
PES improve the profitability of clients by supporting them to turn new concepts into a reality and by optimising and developing existing products.
PES Scanning division provides 3D scanning, data capture and metrology services. Whether the data capture is for reverse engineering, quality inspection or design and optimisation, the team can offer a full end-to-end solution. This includes everything from data capture through to manufacture.
Co-founders, Dan Fleetcroft and Mike Maddock first became aware of AMP Technology Centre through their activities with another company, and when they decided to establish PES Performance in 2011, AMP Technology Centre was the obvious location to base the new business.
Simon Spode Operations Manager, PES Ltd, said: “The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) is the Kensington address for businesses operating in advanced manufacturing, precision engineering, and related industries, and the fact that there was criteria to meet before admittance onto the AMP, added to the kudos for companies located on the Park.
“Over the years we have established relationships with many of the businesses located both within AMP Technology Centre and on the wider Park, both as suppliers and as customers. On occasions when we have had specific technical requirements on projects, there has usually been an expert nearby who has been able to suggest a solution or provide a service which has helped to meet our requirements.
“Amongst these relationships we’ve worked closely with the AMRC for many years; undertaking multiple research projects with them, including the development of a lightweight metal-composite hybrid anti-roll bars for trucks and trains, along with Sheffield-based business Tinsley Bridge.
“We’ve also worked closely with the AMRC Training Centre, and our current degree apprentice is completing his course there whilst working as part of our 3D scanning and metrology team.”
PES are now operating out of their third office / workshop space within AMP Technology Centre, having expanded twice as they grew their team and evolved their facilities requirements over the past 12 years.
Of the internal workspace moves, Simon added: “The team managing the Centre are excellent, and it’s good to have the reception, mail, meeting rooms and other facilities available. It means that as an SME, we don’t need to think about organising these in addition to running the business.”
AMP Technology Centre continue to flex to meet the needs of PES Solutions, having supporting the team from those early days as an ambitious start-up through to the successful and growing business it is today.
