Community Hub Cafe to open at AMP Technology Centre

South Yorkshire’s premium advanced manufacturing and engineering workspace announce the arrival of a new cafe, community space and regional venture hub. Atuin.Cafe will open on the ground floor of AMP Technology Centre’s building one, on 12 May, 2025.

In recent times, the space has been used for events and meetings by occupiers and people visiting the workshops and offices. Located at the heart of South Yorkshire’s innovation community, the space has been identified as a hub for collaboration and community engagement. The new cafe will attract people from the unique cluster of research and business actors from across the Advanced Manufacturing Park, Sheffield Business Park and the University of Sheffield Innovation District.

From 12 May, customers can order on-site catering for meetings and events hosted at AMP Technology Centre, pop down to the cafe for drinks, and pick up their very own ‘Grab-and-Go’ selection of sandwiches, salads and snacks. The menu is currently under design and will be available soon. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options will feature and there will be an emphasis on providing locally sourced and environmentally friendly produce.

Need to know:

  • Event and meeting catering can be pre-booked via AMP Technology Centre’s reception team as usual.
  • ‘Grab-and-Go’ – selection will be self-serve, chilled with a 24 hour kiosk.
  • The cafe will be staffed from 8.30 – 3pm Monday to Friday excluding bank holidays and the cafe sit-in service will open from 1st June
  • Special events will usually run from 0700-0900 and 1500-1900.

And what of the name? Born from a love of fantasy novelist Terry Pratchett and his character “Atuin” – the world Turtle  – you can expect turtles to feature heavily in the look and feel of the new workspace cafe!

Atuin.Cafe is the brainchild of Atuin.Ventures, Venture.Community (a Co-Op created to support tech start-ups) and the UKBAA (UK Business Angels Association).  Established as a dedicated venture hub for South Yorkshire, the cafe aspires to support companies in the area with the space, the fuel, and the community to do great things!

We’ll be reporting more soon; sharing details of Atuin.Cafe events, menus, special offers and co-working opportunities. And of course we’ll be announcing the much anticipated launch date for their breakfast baps! But for now – please do pop by and say hello from 12 May 2025.
