Outcomes Following MoJ Reforms

Presented by:  David Williams, Partner, DAC Beechcroft Claims Ltd

2013 saw significant changes to the arena of personal injury claims, and the way in which solicitors representing injured Claimants have presented them.

David has considerable experience dealing with PI claims and has seen the way claims handling procedures have changed over the last 3 years following introduction of the claims portal. The current workings of the portal will be explained along with the impact on costs and the effect that this has on Insureds.

Why you should attend the event:

This event will provide you with a summary of the scope and workings of the claims portal, consider the impact of its implementation including the behaviours of some Claimants’ solicitors, and look at the latest and future developments envisaged.

It will enable you to explain to Insureds how the reforms are working in practice and discuss your joint responsibilities in ensuring that information is provided in a timely manner.

Who should attend:

This will be of interest to all CII Members whether they be Insurers, Brokers and Loss Adjusters – they all have the same responsibilities to maintain CPD. It will be of particular interest to those involved in the claims process but also anyone who has responsibility for ensuring Insureds are aware of what is likely to happen in the event of a claim..

Learning Outcomes :

At the end of the session you will understand the workings of the claims portal and be able to explain this to colleagues and Insureds as well as understanding the impact that the portal is having on claims costs
