AMP Technology Centre welcomes energy technology business, Taconova UK, to their workspace and innovation community.
The Taconova name is synonymous with continuous simplification and the development of innovative solutions in the area of district heating systems, Pump technology and facility management.
Taconova specialise in District Heating, hydronic balancing, valves and accessories, pump technology, and Heat Interface Units; offering a comprehensive range for the heating and sanitary sector. Taconova helps reduce energy costs, eliminates the need for maintenance work, and contributes to environmental protection with reliable technology.
Taconova UK is part of a European Group originating from Swiss manufacturers with a 60-year history. Taconova Group launched into the UK market from Hillsborough in Sheffield before moving to the Advanced Manufacturing Park Technology Centre last month.
Working across domestic and commercial sectors, the firm’s Heat Interface Unit technology and specialist metering, billing and energy efficiency services are designed to reduce carbon emissions and energy consumption – supporting South Yorkshire and other combined authorities across the UK in meeting their carbon-neutral targets.
Heat Interface Unit (HIU) technology is used by energy companies, independent businesses, housing providers, developers, and residential customers. A HIU transfers heat from the community heating network into a building’s central heating system. There is a heat meter inside the HIU that measures heat energy usage in kilowatts, shown as kWh on your statement. As manufacturers and suppliers of this technology, Taconova UK works with everyone from District Heat Networks managed by Local Authorities to large energy companies, property developers, facility management companies, and smaller house builders with their own heat interface unit systems.
Taconova UK also offers one utility sub-metering service, providing a true one-stop shop for metering and billing services as well as energy efficiency monitoring services. The Taconova system reads meters remotely, sends bills to residential and commercial customers, collects payments, and manages the network on behalf of clients and landlords, provisioning measures and invoicing customers for their energy usage. Both sides of the business share the same mission: to reduce energy costs, eliminate the need for maintenance work, and reduce carbon consumption through reliable technology.
Over the next few years, Taconova has big plans for expansion from their new base at AMP Technology Centre. General Manager Behfar Abedinia explains: “This is the ideal location for us to grow the business and collaborate with the rich manufacturing community based in and around the Park. Close proximity to the AMRC Training Centre and the wider talent pool that exists here will support our ambitions to work with apprentices and to create new graduate positions in engineering and customer services.”
