Phil Roberts is a manufacturing engineer by trade, completing his apprenticeship in the automotive sector and progressing to senior management by the early 2000s. In 2005 Phil founded PROBE, and together with his business partner Lynn Davies, they developed software that reports overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) for manufacturing businesses. 

PROBE employs a team of ten that operate from South Wales and the newly launched Manufacturing Intelligence consultancy aims to support PROBE services by working directly with customers to embed and benefit from the PROBE software platform POET.
